Abstract

This paper presents the analysis of a series of imported bucchero from the so-called ‘Isolato Mansuelli’ (Regio IV - Insula I) in Kainua-Marzabotto. The context, excavated between the 1950s and 1960s and only preliminarily published, has recently been the main subject of a comprehensive study promoted by the chair of Etruscology and Italic Antiquities of the University of Bologna. This analysis led to a renewed interpretation of these dwelling areas, also due to the possibility to reconstruct the original provenance of the finds, mostly still unpublished. Among the numerous finds, here is presented a small series of bucchero, whose analysis can provide new elements to clarify the relationship among ceramic productions on both sides of the Apennines.
